Last week, we saw teachers and administrators work tirelessly to keep families updated as they navigated the day-to-day uncertainty around school closures. Now, as schools rush to implement remote learning, we’re seeing the shape of communication on Remind transform in response.
With nearly every U.S. school closed and 97% of students at home, communities have been using Remind at a massive scale to help students keep learning. We’re delivering 100 million messages every day as teachers provide instruction, share guidance, and offer reassurance. Meanwhile, parents and students without reliable internet access at home are signing up for text notifications at a rate we’ve never seen before.
This is the highest volume of messages we’ve ever delivered, and this extraordinary usage is pushing our free service to its limits. Our team is working around the clock to keep Remind up and running, and we appreciate your patience and understanding if you’ve experienced any slowness or disruptions during this time.
While we can’t anticipate what usage will look like in the coming weeks and months, we’re committed to continuing to provide our free service to teachers, students, and parents—just as we have for the last 10 years. If you need additional tools for reaching your community, our team can work with you on options for transitioning to the Remind plan for schools and districts, including any budgeting or timing considerations that may have arisen.
