Setting the bar for privacy and security

News

Privacy and security have always been among our top priorities for the millions of educators, students, and parents who use Remind.

As part of our commitment to data privacy, we’ve maintained iKeepSafe certification for federal privacy laws (FERPA and COPPA) as well as additional state regulations (California Student Privacy Certification) since 2016.

Now, we’re taking the next step to meet the increasing needs of schools and districts: Remind has officially been awarded the ISO 27001:2013 certification, the internationally recognized standard for information security management and governance. And we’re proud to share that we are one of the very few education technology companies to do so.

What sets ISO 27001:2013 apart is the implementation of an Information Security Management System, or organization-wide controls for protecting user and company information.

To achieve our certification, Remind completed a rigorous yearlong process to adopt and develop policies and practices that meet the requirements established by ISO, the independent body that develops and publishes international standards.

Think of ISO 27001:2013 certification as an internationally recognized yardstick for assessing your security practices—so you can be confident in Remind’s ability to meet and exceed your organization’s requirements.
