Looking for a new PD experience this summer?

This summer, Code.org is offering professional development workshops all over the country to prepare teachers to teach computer science—and you can get workshop curriculum and updates right on Remind. If you've ever been curious about computer science, these workshops are a great opportunity to gain experience with leading curriculum and get started in the field. Computer science opens more doors than any other discipline, and learning the basics can help students in any career: 71% of all US jobs require digital skills, and high-skilled computing occupations are the fastest-growing, highest-compensated, and largest sector of all new wages in the country. Workshops are open to all teachers, no matter your experience. We're proud to support Code.org's mission to expand access to computer science in schools and increase participation by women and underrepresented minorities. Most of the summer workshops are offered at no cost, and they'll include dedicated time for lesson delivery with your colleagues, deep dives into tools and curriculum, and inquiry-based approaches to teaching. And, for the first time, Code.org will use Remind for real-time communication with teachers in the professional learning program. You can choose to get notifications on the app, online, or even by text—the same way that students and parents in your classes do.According to Code.org president Alice Steinglass, that's exactly the point. “Remind is a perfect example of how education, along with society, evolves as technology and touches all aspects of our lives,” she says. “At Code.org, we know that curriculum needs to evolve as well, and we want to ensure that all students—regardless of background, gender, or race—have the opportunity to learn computer science.”Interested in teaching computer science at your school?
