Updates to Remind’s privacy tools and protections

News

Data privacy plays a big role at Remind, from keeping personal contact information hidden to partnering with iKeepSafe to comply with US privacy laws. This month, we’ll be introducing a few updates to meet new European regulations around data protection—and make sure everyone can keep using Remind to support student success, no matter where they are.

GDPR: New EU data privacy regulations

GDPR, or the General Data Protection Regulation, is a set of policies that affects how we process the personal information of anyone in the European Union. To meet these new requirements, we’ve changed the way we explain Remind’s data practices as well as your ability to see and manage the information you share with us.

Transparency: How Remind processes your data

To see a full list of the personal information that Remind collects and uses to provide our service, visit our new Data Practices page. We’ve also updated our Privacy Policy with more details about what happens to your data once you delete your account.

Control: How to view and download your data

In your account settings, there’s now an option to see and update your personal information on Remind. You can also download all the data that you’ve provided to Remind, at any time—just submit a request from your account and we’ll email you a link to your information. We’re committed to the privacy of everyone who uses Remind, and we’re continually working to meet relevant data protection laws like GDPR. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@remind.com.
