Remind is a messaging app that helps teachers, students, and parents communicate quickly and efficiently. By connecting everyone in a school, Remind helps educators and organizers build community both in and out of the classroom.
Trust and respect are at the heart of any meaningful community, and your well-being is our highest priority. We believe that safety is a shared responsibility, and everyone plays an important role in keeping the Remind community safe.
We strongly encourage all users—whether you're an organizer (e.g., teacher, administrator, coach), participant (e.g., student, parent, athlete), or organization (e.g., school, district, PTA group)—to report any inappropriate contact, content, or use of Remind's services. To contact our team about violations, please email email@example.com.
Communication should be appropriate for recipients of all age levels and constructive in nature, so we encourage you to carefully consider all message content before sending.
Messages on Remind can't be edited or deleted, and everyone can download a complete record of announcements they send as well as conversations they participate in. Verified administrators at your school can also request to view your announcements and conversations.
TIP: For examples of messages to share with your class or group, click here.
To make sure you're messaging the people you intend to message, check your participant list frequently and remove anyone who shouldn't be in your class.
Anyone who has your class code can join the class, so be careful about posting the code on social media or other public platforms.
Before you join a class or accept an invitation, take a second to make sure you recognize the owner or teacher. If you join a class by mistake, you can leave at any time.
Only add or invite people to a class on Remind if you have their permission to contact them. We recommend letting them know ahead of time how you plan to use Remind so they feel comfortable joining your class.
While every community is different, each message you send should be valuable for your participants. Listen to feedback about the relevance, frequency/timing, and length of your messages. If you find that your messages are important for only a small group in your class, for example, consider creating a group conversation or a new class for them.
TIP: If you're creating a new class, it's easy to add participants from your existing classes.
Don't use words and phrases that you wouldn't say over the school loudspeaker. Keep it clean. Remind is first and foremost a tool for education.
There's no place for sexually suggestive or explicit content on Remind, including nudity of any kind. If we find that your messages include this content, your account will be deleted. We're also legally required to report any images of minors to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, no matter the intent.
Messages meant to harass, bully, or speak maliciously about other people are unacceptable. You can block or report anyone who sends messages of this nature. We also encourage you to seek out resources or contact a trusted adult if you or someone you know is being bullied or feels unsafe.
Use your real name and select the accurate role. Misrepresenting yourself or impersonating other people is not allowed on Remind.
It's important to get permission from participants (and their guardians, if they're under 13) before adding them to classes on Remind. If we find that you're adding people who don't want to be added, your account may be deleted.
Consider the frequency and content of your messages. Remind prohibits sending multiple messages a day without regard for your participants or messages with irrelevant content. If we detect behavior that resembles spamming, your account may be deleted.
Any messages meant to threaten harm to yourself or others goes against our priority to keep our community safe. If you're considering harming yourself, please seek out resources and contact a trusted adult. If someone is sending violent threats, please report that person to Remind and contact a trusted adult.
Communication on Remind should be used to support learning, and features are intended for educational uses only. Remind should not be used for personal profit or commercial purposes.
Marketing, organizing or discussing gambling, betting or gaming activities is prohibited on Remind with the exception of education-related fundraising.
Thanks for working with us to keep the Remind community safe and supportive!
