A look back at 2023 on Remind—and a sneak peek at what’s ahead

News

Another year is coming to a close, and we hope you’re winding things down for a well-deserved break—and finding a moment or two to reflect on how far you’ve come this year.

At Remind, we’re busy preparing for our next chapter. But before we step into the new year and everything it has in store, here’s a look back at 2023 and just some of the ways you and your communities made it a memorable one.

Over 22 million educators, family members, and students made it a priority to stay connected with one another.

Engagement takes hard work, no matter which way you look at it—whether you’re a teacher or staff member trying to get through communication barriers or a parent trying to figure out the best way to show up for your child.

This year, when you and your staff sent home messages, families and students read and responded to them. In 2023, 10 billion messages were delivered on Remind. And to the nearly 2 million teachers who continue using Remind to “text your classes,” even after all these years, you’re still the backbone of family engagement.

1,500 districts are looking at mass communications in a different way.

There’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all communication. Effective district communication requires more than just the ability to send out messages to hundreds or thousands of families. To make an impact, these messages need to be received, too.

Today, 7.5 million students are in districts that use two-way, text-first messaging to make sure that families have access to a reliable and equitable line of communication. From improving attendance dramatically to personalizing communication for a community with diverse backgrounds, this kind of mass communications makes a difference.

Students attended 38,000 one-on-one tutoring sessions to get the academic support they need.

Connection is at the heart of every learning relationship, and we’re grateful that Remind Tutoring has been part of so many of them. Our tutoring service will start winding down in the coming months, but we hope that the students and families who were part of it can continue building on what they gained.

A new chapter

A few weeks ago, we shared our biggest milestone yet: joining the ParentSquare family to take the next step in supporting student success. Together, we have the opportunity to build the single most engaged communication platform in education—one that makes it as simple as possible for everyone in a district community to stay connected.

We’ll have more details to share with you very soon. If you’re interested in learning more, sign up here for our webinar next month to hear about how we’re bringing the ParentSquare and Remind platforms together. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s next.

Until then, take care of yourselves and your communities. We’ll see you next year!
