Why is ParentSquare acquiring Remind?

Remind has a strong following with teachers, and ParentSquare has a strong unified platform for districts and the full school community. Together, we can advance our shared mission of increasing student success through improved communication.

Who is ParentSquare?

ParentSquare is the award-winning provider of a school-home engagement platform for K-12 education. Millions of educators and families in 49 states rely on the unified, multipurpose platform that includes mass notifications, classroom communications, school websites, and other communication-based services, all supported by visual dashboards. ParentSquare was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA.

Will my Remind pricing change?

Absolutely not. There will be no changes to your contract price as a result of this announcement. We’ll honor current contract pricing, and we also plan to give customers the option to purchase additional functionality if it meets their needs.

Will Remind’s products or services go away?

Remind Chat and Remind Hub will remain in operation, and Remind Hub will continue to be available to purchase for schools and districts. Remind Tutoring will be discontinued on April 15, 2024.

Why are you winding down Remind’s tutoring business?

Our core focus going forward will be on family and community engagement, and tutoring falls outside of this area. Our last day of tutoring will be on April 14, 2024. Sessions on April 15 and after will be canceled. We are no longer accepting new tutor applications.

I use the free version of Remind’s products. Will I still have access to the free version after the acquisition?

Remind Chat will continue to be free to use.

Will I be forced to use ParentSquare?

Remind Chat and Remind Hub will remain the same, just now part of ParentSquare. The technology will eventually be integrated.

Will ParentSquare change its name to Remind or vice versa? What will happen to the Remind brand?

The combined company will be known as ParentSquare. Remind Chat and Remind Hub will keep their product names.

What will happen to the data that customers shared with Remind?

The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for each product remain in effect. We’ll send an announcement to all customers in advance of any material change to the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy for any product.

Will the people I work with at Remind change?

As the two companies come together, some roles will inevitably change. But right now, you’ll keep working with the teams you’ve always counted on, and we’ll communicate any changes to you clearly and in advance.

What happens if I am currently in a contract with both Remind and ParentSquare?

Right now, Remind and ParentSquare are separate services, so you’ll have to pay for each individually. We’re actively working on merging them into one unified and seamless solution, but during this transition, pricing remains the same for both. We appreciate your patience, as we are committed to being thoughtful in our approach and ensuring we create a top-tier, integrated solution.
